One Checklist That You Should Keep In Mind Before Visiting Mumbai

Mumbai-“the city of dreams” despite the fact that it’s the “city that never sleeps” is a place that will enchant and enthrall you. Mumbai embraces tourists and migrants just as gracefully, has something for everyone as there are endless places to visit in Mumbai but let’s talk about things to know before visit Mumbai firstly.

Climate
Your itinerary as well as your packing both depends on the climate hence, it’s an important checklist before your travel. Mumbai is hot and humid in summer but dry and warm during winter months. Rain is something you cannot escape from no matter the time of the year you plan your trip in; so pack and plan accordingly.

Language
Although English and Hindi both are widely spoken, the local language is Marathi. Most people you come across would be able to communicate easily with signs (they are smart and helpful that way) even if language is a barrier.

Traffic
The biggest problem this metropolitan faces is Traffic, just like any other metro city in the country. The local trains are chock-full, the roads heaving and the lanes bursting at the seams. If you have a flight to catch, keep a time margin.

Money
The currency accepted throughout India is Indian Rupee but prefer not to carry too much paper money with you as Mumbai is a city even pan vendors would accept online transfers. There are enough ATMs in the city, many online wallets are accepted but everything seems to be little more expensive in the financial capital of India.

Food
Whether you have a budget of Rs 100 or Rs 1000, you will get tasty and hygienic food mostly. From street vendors to top hotels, food is generally fresh and delicious. Make sure you do not miss finger-licking street food at Chowpatty.

Sightseeing
There are countless places to see in Mumbai but you can surely pick the ones that interest you. Whether the beach is where your heart flows, or Elephanta caves is what you want to explore, Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus, Gateway of India, marine Drive, Haji Ali Dargah, Essel World, Sanjay Gandhi National Park… the list just doesn’t seem to end!

Mumbai is surely a city of many experiences and you can’t explore them all in one go. Plan a long vacation and stay at Hotel Kohinoor Elite that is equipped with all the necessary amenities that one might need. With fine dining outlets and recreational facilities, travellers can enjoy a wholesome experience during their sojourn.

4 Coolest Things near Powai Lake to Check off your Bucket List

Nestled in the cradle of the Powai valley, Mumbai, Powai Lake is an over 214-year old artificial lake enveloped by denuded hills, which was built by the British in 1799. Bedecked by a dense carpet of picturesque pink and lilac balsam bushes, the lake is known for its rich biodiversity. Crocodiles, bumblebees, spot-billed ducks and white browned bulbuls are frequent visitors to this site. This makes it a popular tourist attraction of Mumbai. But, that’s not the only fun thing that the region has to offer. Here are some other attractions-

1. Go Karting
If you are a thrill seeker, then go karting is one of the best things to do near Powai Lake. Perched atop a hill, the Hakone Go Karting track stretches over a terrain of approximately half a kilometer in length. This is a great place for youngsters to hang out with their friends and to beat them in racing competitions. You can visit the place anytime between the wee hours of the morning until the time when the night sets in.

2. Paintball & Zorbing
If the adrenaline rush of go karting is not your cup of tea, then chill by painting the town red with your folks as you hit them playfully with paintballs. Not only is this a great stress buster and an interesting recreational sport, it is also a nice way to build bonhomie with your loved ones. Another interesting thing to do near Powai Lake is to experience zorbing. All that you need to do is slide inside a huge transparent plastic ball and roll! Originally conceived in New Zealand, this sport is now gaining currency in Mumbai.

3. Hang out at R-City Mall
Youngsters can also drop by at R-City Mall and shop at its numerous retail outlets of various international brands. From clothes to accessories, footwear, bags and cosmetic products, there is a sea of items to choose from. Another great alternative is to opt for indoor sports like ‘ten pin bowling’ at the mall. This is a great way to unwind with your friends on a boring weekend.

4. Visit nearby tourist attractions
If you are a tourist in Mumbai, then it is suggested that you check out some of the tourist places near Powai Lake. Some of the famed destinations, which draw swarms of visitors, include the revered Jagdishwar Temple, which is inspired by the architectural motifs of Sanchi Stupa built by Emperor Ashoka; Holy Trinity Church built in 1971; and the quadrangular shaped, Jama Masjid.
Once you are done checking off these things off your bucket list, you can drop by at Hotel Kohinoor Eilte. Its well-appointed rooms make for the perfect haven for you to relax after a weary day of exploring the city.

Best Things to Do at Juhu Beach

Mumbai, the city of dreams, is known for many things: its hectic traffic jams, beautiful monsoon season, delectable snacks such as vada pav & pav bhaji, stylish Kolahpuri chappals and for being the epicenter of talent. However, the one thing that stands out among other things is the ‘Juhu Beach’. Reckoned as one of the most well-known beaches in India, the iconic Juhu Beach draws throngs of tourists each day. Situated in 'Ville Parle', the beach is flanked by the royal blue waters of the colossal Arabian Sea. What makes this beach a popular tourist attraction is the plethora of activities that you can indulge in while you are at this beach.

1. View the enchanting sunset
Watch the sky metamorphose from ochre to black as the sun dips below the horizon and the twilight sets in. This natural phenomenon creates a beautiful choreography not just in the sky but also in the azure waters of the sea as silhouettes of the sun beautifully dance on the surface of the water. You can also go for a mushy stroll at the beach with your beloved as your feet are bathed by the splashing of waves, leaving you in a puddle of joy.

2. Indulge in some sporty activities
Another great option for you is to spend some quality time with your kids as you build castles of glittering golden sand on the beach. Those of you who are fond of kite flying or playing water sports like water volleyball, water polo or Frisbee will also not be disappointed! At the same time, you can also go for a relaxing dip with your friends in the tranquil waters surrounding the beach.

3. Local shops
Juhu Beach is quite famous for hosting local bistros, which serve several authentic snacks of the region such as bhel puri, pani puri, colourful ice chuskis and batata vadas. So, quit being diet conscious and binge on these scrumptious delicacies. The beach also houses quite a few high end fashion houses and designer boutiques where you can get an unrivalled collection for your trousseau. This is also an ideal spot for you to pick up some souvenirs for your friends and family.

Excellent three star hotel in Mumbai for Business Travellers

I love Mumbai and traveling to Mumbai for work or pleasure is always enjoyable. Recently my company had planned an annual client meeting in Kohinoor Elite, an excellent three star hotel in Mumbai. Heard a lot about this hotel but never been here actually, to be honest I was a little apprehensive about the hotel, but when I actually went there I realised I was in prejudice.

After my recent experience, I can say that Kohinoor Elite hotel is one of the best hotels in Bandra Kurla. (It stands as per its name, it’s meant for Elites! I along with my colleague was accommodated in the Kohinoor Elite Double Room. The room had all the basic amenities and the hotel associates were all very efficient and hardworking .The rooms were dedicatedly designed to give us a breather after the packed day! They have an all-day dining restaurant where the buffet was so rich in taste, yet so very healthy! All the staffs in the restaurant were very hospitable and were of much help during the work-hours and off work too. But, the aspect that amazed me most was their well-equipped conference hall. The meetings ran very smoothly and there was not a single fault.

I would recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking for the same fulfilling stay as me. It is easily accessible from Mumbai international and domestic airport. It has a great value for money, and the best part is an uninterrupted sleep you get after a long day
